Bradley Beach, NJ
The 22’ x 100’ site is the third lot from the Atlantic Ocean, offering views from both the north and south ends of the house. The long side of the house parallels the coast but does not have a view to the beach due to the immediate proxim¬ity of adjacent structures, we sought to design its facade as a continuation of the wave action and dune fences found at the beach. Using typical wood framing module, portions of the facade undulate with the varied programs they enclose, taking advantage of 24” cantilevers, and transitioning on the main floor from kitchen to dining area to the double height living space in one continuous wave.
