The project will see the adaptive reuse of a vacant and dilapidated 2.5-story masonry warehouse on a major thoroughfare in Jersey City to a 28-unit residential building with approximately 4,500 square feet of retail at the ground floor. GRO sought to maintain the first two floors of masonry construction, utilizing an existing column grid, to organize a residential lobby, the retail, and a mix of studios, and one- and two-bedroom units. To make distinct the old and new portions of the building, a mix of corrugated metal and glass has been imagined for the façade of the three-story addition.
